What a great source of pride! Taking part in the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris and standing alongside all the artisans, craftsmen, patrons, and contributors during the end-of-site visit by the President of the Republic on November 29, 2024.
We stored and transported roofing elements manufactured by Groupe BALAS as part of the reconstruction project.
Groupe BALAS produced the pieces in its factory and stored them in our warehouse, located on the waterfront at the Port of Gennevilliers, within the HAROPA PORT domain. About once a month since February, our crew transported the pieces on a self-propelled river vessel to the foot of Notre-Dame Cathedral, where they were kept on a barge serving as an on-site storage area. The pieces were then installed progressively on the site.
This collaboration is a perfect example of the advantages of river transport: delivering materials directly to the heart of the capital, on a highly constrained site, with no impact on traffic.
It also showcases our ability to provide customized service: thanks to Voies Navigables de France and HAROPA PORT, we designed this buffer storage barge system at the foot of Notre-Dame, granting complete supply flexibility to the site managers.
