New phase of the european project InnoWaTr (Innovative Waterway Transportation)
27th February 2024
From February 26th to 28th, 2024, Sogestran Logistics participated in a new phase of the European project InnoWaTr (Innovative Waterway Transportation).
The program’s 25 partners, from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Sweden, gathered for 3 days at Kuehne Logistics University to advance the work.
The European program aims to decarbonize inland waterway transport and improve its competitiveness by involving all stakeholders in the sector.
As a reminder:
➡ Europe has set ambitious greenhouse gas emission reduction targets: 25% by 2030 and 50% by 2050.
➡ The InnoWaTr project develops a new collaborative approach to achieve this goal. Instead of leaving decarbonization solely to shipowners, it shifts the focus towards multi-stakeholder freight flow coalitions by promoting shared interests, costs, and benefits of individual stakeholders. The project brings together 25 partners.
➡ As a shipowner and operator, Sogestran Logistics plays a demonstrator role in the European program. It shares its experiences in decarbonization (including its tests on HVO, hybrid propulsion, hydrogen, etc.) with partners. It will also conduct demonstrations, notably on the Seine axis in Paris, involving and showcasing the shippers who already entrust their freight flows to them (such as PAPREC GROUP and CUILLER FRERES).
